I'm Martha Ojo, a seasoned project management, business risk and higher education professional with over a decade of leadership and crisis management experience.

As a two-term Company and Education Director at the London School of Economics Students’ Union (2018–2020), I led transformative initiatives totaling £1 million, including eliminating a £50,000 deficit and launching the £300,000 LSE Change Makers student research fund. My work directly contributed to a 12% improvement in the National Student Survey scores for LSE and a 10% improvement for its Students’ Union.

  • LSE Change Makers: I co-launched a £300,000 student research and mentorship programme that enhanced academic experiences and employability. By applying strategic planning and stakeholder engagement, the initiative transformed academic-student collaboration and continues to thrive today.

  • LSE Black History Month: I secured £40,000 in annual funding from senior management through strategic negotiation to deliver Black History Month programming. The events, attended by 6,000+ people, included a lecture by BBC historian David Olusoga, an art exhibition, and a film screening.

  • LSE 2030 Strategy: As a consultant for LSE’s 2030 Strategy, I contributed to the "Education for Global Impact" section using strategic planning and education policy expertise, shaping a forward-thinking vision for the institution.

  • LSE Lecture Capture Policy: I secured LSE’s lecture capture policy by resolving governance disputes through stakeholder management and negotiation. My work ensured lecture recordings were ready for students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Curriculum Reform: I revamped LSE100, a compulsory undergraduate course, by leveraging project management and stakeholder engagement skills. Securing funding from LSE’s Resourcing Committee, I ensured the course became skills-focused, tech-driven, and aligned with student career needs.

  • Public Communications: As a thought leader in education policy, financing, and development, I utilized public speaking and media relations skills to appear on news platforms and author influential articles.

  • Sir Arthur Lewis Building: As part of the core strategic team, I helped rename 32 Lincoln’s Inn Fields to the Sir Arthur Lewis Building, showcasing its historical significance. I was featured in a short film and multiple news publications, with the renaming finalised in Spring 2023.

  • Financial and Organisational Restructure: As a leading member of the restructuring team, I eliminated a £200,000 deficit, enabling the efficient operation of the LSE Students' Union. Leveraging my skills in financial management, risk mitigation, and strategic planning, I served as the risk owner for intellectual property and IT system issues during a complex partnership dissolution, ensuring a seamless transition.
